I’m Sam Yarwood and I specialise in strength and conditioning for outdoor athletes and personal fitness training for busy people. It is my mission to provide highly personalised, evidence-driven training and coaching to athletes and non-athletes alike. I blend my own athletic-, scientific-, life- and career-experience to help people meet their own sporting, health and life goals as enjoyably, efficiently, effectively and sustainably as possible.

I offer specialised strength and conditioning training to anyone who takes part in athletic activities in the great outdoors. I work with climbers, mountaineers, road cyclists, mountain bikers, runners (trail, ultra, road), triathletes, wild swimmers and more.

My training and performance philosophy is based on five core principles:

  • Strength forms the foundation of all athletic performance
  • Strength is fundamental to building injury resistance and therefore consistent training
  • The most efficient training is purposeful and deliberate
  • The most effective training merges scientific evidence and real-world experience
  • Effective coaching makes complex things simple for you, the athlete

Not everyone is an athlete or fitness enthusiast, although we all feel like we should always be doing more to lead healthier lives. But how? What is right for you? How do you find the time? Where do you even start?

My personal fitness approach based on four core principles:

  • Scientific evidence tells us how we can become fit and strong in a
    time-efficient way that fits with the other pressures of a busy modern life
  • A strong body is just as important as good cardiovascular fitness
  • Any activity is better than no activity, and things that interests us are even better
  • The most effective fitness training must always be tailored to you, the individual

I work with individuals to create an optimal life/fitness balance so they can integrate their health and fitness goals into the demands of modern life
